Cliffhangers

With a starry sky above our heads,

let us sit together for a while or more

And solve all those cliffhangers

that the time has woven for both of us.

Let us leave all the cliched phrases behind,

and say, what in coffins, we’ve kept alive

Let us take out some time to brush away

The dust from yesterdays, and veils from tomorrows.

Let us sit and keep our senses aside

and get emptied of all our little intellect

Unleashing the mists from our eyes,

Let us spurt out some suffocated truths.

Let us whisper our all metaphysical ideals,

and exchange a few philosophical notes,

Let us look at the thunders within us,

and find shores to reside in each other.

Let us tie a gentle nameless knot

And when it clings before the world awake,

Let us just meet like we used to,

In beats of heart and greets of past.

Let us revive hopes, murder expectations,

Let us comfort each other with no promises,

Let us not iterate it again and again,

That we’re scared of the forthcoming future

Let us read between the gaps of words

Let us live between the pause of breaths

And when it’s done, then all distances

will perish the pains that used to live

With a little desire of immortalising today,

Let us sit together for a while or more

And solve all those cliffhangers

that the time has woven for both of us.

    1. No Nikesh, stop that comparison in the field of poetry at least, okay?! All poems are their own kind of beautiful. Have you read SARTRE? this man always said that this feeling comes to all writers and poets, because being the creator of their own works, piteously, they can’t read their own work in suspense, and so they can’t even judge their own work! Isn’t that true? (A wonderful book he’s written, you must read that)
Well oh sorry, i got carried away with that line of yours! Thanks for being here and liking my posts, I’m so very grateful😄

      1. OK, I won’t compare again. Sorry if it did hurt you. And what Sarte says is absolutely bang on target. One of the truest facts, no doubt. And I won’t compare but at least say that you’re talented. And that’s fine enough! ☺☺☺

    2. Loved so much your wise and thoughtful response! Reminds me of the quote “A butterfly cannot see the beauty of its wings that other do”. It is especially true for writers, at least for me. Perhaps the reason my blog is “The Reluctant Poet” Ha! Great advice.

  2. Let me know if you’re looking for a article writer for your weblog. You have some really great articles and I think I would be a good asset. If you ever want to take some of the load off, I’d absolutely love to write some content for your blog in exchange for a link back to mine. Please send me an email if interested. Cheers!

  3. Oh my Dear, you have such an exquisite, elegant and thoughtful piece here. This will require a number of rereads to fully appreciate all that you have written! I am sure that after I have done that I will have a number of gems of inspiration from you that will require me to open an account for you in my Word Bank (where I store inspirational words/phrases, titles and ideas that hit me. I then use them as an inspirational seed to compose a poem. You might like to try it?

I am so grateful to have met you and to be able to follow your blog! You are much wiser and more wonderful than your years belie!!! Bellissimo, Apeksha!!!

    1. What brought me to your beautiful site was a big and impressive comment you left on the blog of one of our fellow bloggers. And look, I’ve got that kind of response on my post! I’m so very glad to have it.
Thank you so much for all you’ve said, I feel so honoured to read this 🙂 And as it comes to the Word Bank idea, I’m more than interested!!
Thanks for being here! Keep in touch!

      1. Ha!! You are so thoughtful and articulate!! Most people just tell me I’m “verbose”. I do get carried away. I’m just a chit-chatter! Your piece deserved everything that I wrote and more. I am really thrilled to be able to connect with you too! I’m always looking to make new friends and “Cross-pollinate ideas”. That’s kind of what the Word Bank is about. Using something that really hits you, like a word or a phrase and then using that as the seed of inspiration for a poem or article.

You are so kind with your praise of my blog. I hope you didn’t hurt yourself when you stumbled upon me! LOL! I am really looking forward to following you and finding time to catch up on your older posts. If you might be up to a little fun you might want to check out the post “Allie’s Song For Noah” and “Allie’s Note For Noah”. I wrote the back stories for both of those to set up the poem. This was a little duet between Singledust and myself. She wrote an original poem and it just captured me to the point of just spontaneously answering at the end of each line. See what you think of that duet and if you might be interested in “Interlacing”??

Sorry, I didn’t get to this sooner. Somehow I missed it. Please forgive me!
I don’t think you have to worry about me “Not being here” Ha! Yes, I would like to stay in touch too! If you would like you can email me at chucklindholm@hotmail.com to chit-chat, banter and share ideas! I do like to be the first to see something? Sort of an out of town preview. If you ever want to bounce something to get a feel for a response.
        Blessings,
        Chuck
